One dead, two injured in Melrose crash

MELROSE, MA – A two-vehicle crash injured two people and left one dead Sunday in Melrose. 

The collision occurred on Lynn Fells Parkway, WCVB reported. 

A 2015 Mercedes CLS sedan was traveling at a high rate and hit a tree, and then collided with a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta that was parked. 

The two people from the Jetta sustained minor injuries. Police said the 46-year-old man and 61-year-old woman were transported to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. 

The Mercedes driver, a 41-year-old male, succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. 

Massachusetts State Police are investigating the crash.
