Narrative
CAMBRIDGE, MA – A 62-year-old man died Monday while biking when a vehicle struck him near MIT.
The incident occurred at 5:45 p.m. in the 600 block of Memorial Drive, just across the Charles River from Boston University in the Cambridgeport area.
Police aren’t yet sure what caused the driver of an SUV to lose control of his vehicle and hit the cyclist.
Medics transported the victim, identified as John H. Corcoran of Newton, to the hospital, where he later died.
It’s unclear if the driver of the SUV will face charges connected to the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
