Narrative
TAUNTON, MA – A male cyclist from Seekonk died, and an Attleborough cyclist sustained serious injuries when a vehicle struck them along a Taunton roadway.
The incident happened around 2:25 p.m. on North Walker Street, which runs north to south from US-44 to MA-140.
Police say the two men were cycling along the roadway when a Mercedes-Benz struck them.
Authorities identified the victim as 76-year-old Donald MacManus. MacManus died after transport to a local hospital.
The other cyclist went to the hospital with severe injuries to his lower limbs.
A charge of homicide by neglect is pending for the 62-year-old driver.
